Title: Seelevel or other tank level sensors that are compatible with the Audit computer
Post by: geomm on May 13, 2013, 03:26:37 pm
I found the Seelevel sensors here:

Sensor Board - For use with all model 709 tank monitor systems (http://www.rvupgradestore.com/Seelevel-model-709-Sensor-Board-p/710es.htm)

Are these compatible with my 1994-1995 O.E.M. Audit system?

Or are there other sensor strips that are. My black tank one is working ( I believe), but the others are not.

Thanks,

Michael

Michael,

You would be much better off installing the whole See-level system like I did.  The old system gives you a poor sense of how much you have in the tanks.  You will then have a readout in the coach with no more guessing.  If you want to put full length strips on the tanks it take two per tank.  Don't buy extra strips but buy two systems you will then have an extra readout to install in the wet bay.  Look around as there are better prices out there.

Garnet Technologies is about to come out with a new system that displays all tank levels on a single monitor panel. The 714. The 709 only has a single display and you have to cycle through to see the level of each system you are monitoring. I emailed them a month ago about the 714 and they said they would be back to me with a release date. Didn't hear anything so emailed again last week and they now say at the end of May.

Here is the product brochure http://www.rvgauge.com/downloads/714_SeeLeveL.pdf (http://www.rvgauge.com/downloads/714_SeeLeveL.pdf)

Keith is right. Don't try to reuse the current sensors. I don't even think they will work with SeeLeveL. Your original system only tells you that the tank is between empty and 1/4 or between 1/4 and 1/2 or between... I'm pretty sure you get it. The SeeLevel will show an accurate percentage of full. When working the original system is accurate enough to manage your tanks. The only reason I'm looking to upgrade is that my fresh water is reverse osmosis which doesn't have enough minerals to conduct the electrical current for the sensors! The SeeLeveL uses a different technology and works with RO.

I'm pretty sure you can fix the system you have. If it's just a broken wire you can reattach it pretty easily. To trouble shoot I'm pretty sure all you need to do is short between the bottom sensor to any of the other tank senors. (which is essentially what the water in the tank does)
