Title: Tank Level Indicator
Post by: cynjac on May 18, 2013, 12:26:29 pm
My tank level indication is on a AV screen on my Clarion with the rear view camera. On our last trip I lost the signal for all tank levels (black, grey, water and voltage). I returned home and traced the wire to the emergency brake light thinking there may be a signal issue. I checked the switch (rocker switch that the green ground passes through) for continuity and this was good. I put a jumper ground wire to bypass the switch as well. I still do not have a signal to my monitor. All other functions on the monitor are good.

The only fuse to the system that I could locate is to the monitor and it has power. Looking at the wiring diagram, the 3 wires through the level monitors back to the big blue box of wires  through which is fed to the monitor shows each wire should have 8 volts. have tested the voltage on these wires as yet. Is there a fuse for these sensors that could have blown somewhere? Any suggestions or experiences would certainly help.

Still just a rookie at motor coaches and Foretravel.

Are you getting the camera picture on your monitor? If so try switching the 2 video feeds in the back of monitor (Tanks & Camera) You may have a loose or bad yellow video feed wire from the audit control.

I am getting a camera feed.

I did push the leads together with no change. I will switch the leads

Ok! I'm showing my ability to be a Rookie without common sense.

Both connectors had been taped by FT. When I removed the take the camera lead was tight and felt secure. The connector on the tank sensor was connected but was a bit loose. after switching connectors I lost the camera signal. push together hard and everything is good. I will see what I can do to tighten the connection or replace the connectors and life will be good again.

Thanks for the "remember your common sense" education. I'll just tell the DW how I struggled to get it repaired.

Thanks Barry,

Don't you love the easy ones. Wish they were all like that.
You can always say "You got a blinding flash of the obvious" :P
