Title: Nac is in the weather crosshairs tomorrow
Post by: John S on May 20, 2013, 11:29:49 pm
Watching the news tonight they started talking about tomorrow. It looks like Nac and points south are included in the red of tornado warnings or heavy thunderstorms with hail.  Be careful tomorrow over there in Meccadoches.....

Being at Emerald Bay on Lake Palestine (Bullard/Tyler)  I had the coach over at the house for prep to go to Branson on Thurs.  Put it back in the warehouse this morning to let any bad weather past. This appears to be so bad stuff.  DAN

We were at Lake of the Pines, north of NAC in 2009 on Christmas Eve when there was a tornado reported heading our way. We were setting there very confident that a winter twister would not be larger than a F1 which should be very survivable in a Foretravel but to our surprise it was a fairly strong F3, so you can never tell what Tronadoes are going to do. The F3 tornado came through Longview and right over our coach, thankfully off of the ground at that point. We were lucky.

As proven in Moore, OK yesterday, sometimes you just have to be underground or get out of the way. To all of our friends in NAC, be vigilant today. You are very important to us.

Thanks Kent.  Hopefully this will be about the same as other events.....important to watch but not destructive.  We had a tornado here about 45 years ago, near Nac so folks are wary but do not have the shelters that would be nice to have.  We need some rain, that predicted now at 80%

I went with a fellow yesterday to be a comfort more than anything as he drove his new to him Foretravel.  He has not had a motorhome though so new experience, and will sell his Airstream. Got him educated on ForeForums, Motorcade, etc.  So our little Nac group of owners grows.  Next time you are through here will be opportunity to meet.  Chappell got a Newell, selling his 2002 FT though is just beautiful, wish I could have it. But we will include him and a couple of other SOB owners!

Cheers and blessings,  Mike and Jackie

Heard the weather is forming a boundary near Arlington so this might be a TX event this time.  We hope and pray it is not like Moore and not even close to that strength if there is one.
