Title: Home Theater Install Update
Post by: prfleming on May 27, 2013, 12:36:57 pm
I thought I would update on the TV replacement/home theater upgrade. My son and I just returned from a trip where we used the sound system to listen to music while underway and watch a movie in the evening and it works great.

The TV is a 32 inch Panasonic LED HDTV. To watch it I just set it on the dash shelf, to stow it I wrap it in a towel and put on top of the washer/dryer. Here is the one I bought:

Amazon.com: Panasonic TC-L32B6 32-Inch 720p 60Hz D-LED HDTV: Electronics (http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-TC-L32B6-32-Inch-720p-D-LED/dp/B00B2H74EU/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1369671104&sr=8-6&keywords=panasonic+32+led+tv)

I put in a plywood shelf for the DVD player/amplifier. Nothing fancy but it does the job. The subwoofer sits below with a hard drive with music and movies on one side and a WDTV media player on the other side. Here is the DVD home theater system:

Amazon.com: Panasonic SC-XH170 Energy Star 5.1-Channel 1000-Watt DVD Home (http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-SC-XH170-5-1-Channel-1000-Watt-Theater/dp/B0078GCLSS/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1369670787&sr=8-3&keywords=panasonic+home+theater)

This all is plugged into the original 120 VAC outlet in the cabinet powered by the inverter. I disabled the relay that turns off the power when the engine is running so we can use the sound system to play music while driving.

Also are 2 pics of the front left and right speakers mounted near the original speakers using velcro strips. The rear speakers are also mounted with velcro strips, one over the entry door, and one at the end of the kitchen counter. The center speaker is on the dash behind the TV.
