What are the numbers on the upper front driver's side of a Foretravel coach? The coach I am hoping to buy has number 16486 over the front window, driver's side. Maybe everyone knows this but me, but I don't know the significance of the number.
That is the current owner's Motorcade Club number. It stays with the owner from coach to coach. When you buy yours, Beverly will assign yours to you. If you're in Nac, FT will remove the old numbers and place yours at no charge.
Benefits of club:
10% off parts and labor at FOT, MOT, Parliament Coach, and perhaps Tennessee RV and others.
Monthly Magazine published by FT.
Local chapters and special interest chapters that promote their own get togethers.
Organized Caravans (Motorcades) to interesting places, some find the prices a little "spendy" but everyone seems to give positive reviews of the trips
Thank you, Tim and Amos! I kind of thought that was the answer but wasn't sure how it worked. So as soon as we finalize the purchase of our "new" coach I should call Foretravel and let them know we now own this coach and ask for a new owner's number. That's on the list for NEXT week!
16486 is not active in the 2013 Directory - but I bet Dave Head has his old Member directories
When you get your Motorcade packet, it will have some name tags in it. Keep them in the coach. Those are your ID badges when you participate in any Motorcade event.
We attended our first MC event about two years after we bought the coach. They asked why we weren't wearing our badges. I replied, "We didn't get any." I assumed that the badges were "per event." Wrong! Fortunately, I quickly found the badges in the drawer under the sofa.
Attend a rally or gathering. Even the impromptu meetings at Camp Foretravel are more fun than we expect!
They weren't active on 08 either! That's as far as I go back that's close to hand...
Motorcade number.
Likely the original owner's number.
What is the significance of the numbers on the front cap of some coaches. They seem to always be 5 digits. Are they build numbers. Some coaches have them, some don't.
Mods, you may want to move this to Discussions as it's not very technical. I thought I was in Discussions.
Those are the motorcade numbers if the person belongs to the motorcade club
Thx, RT.
Motorcade club is Foretravel sponsored owners group
And one is suppose to remove the numbers and motorcade logo when they are no longer active members of the motorcade group. Shhhh, I tried to not say that to loud.
Good luck getting them off...and when you do, you still get to read them for quite a few years of sun fading. I took my Motorcade symbol off, but the numbers will likely come off once I get flush enough to get full body paint. Maybe I should get the letters "EX" and put them in front of my 15001. LOL
or get your own to put up there and then you can have them on till you paint
Those are the numbers that were assigned to me when I had my membership.
I had my numbers made in 2.5" due to the huge numbers make it appear a rental like the movie "RV"
A very light wet sanding with 1500-2000 grit and a small amount of buffing and the evidence of previous numbers will be gone.
Dave,
I've got you beat. Mine are 2.5" SCRIPT and are a reflective blue.
