I am unable to locate my fuel filter in my 1999 U320. Does anyone have any ideas?
Trent,
Open the basement door below the driver's window in front of the steer tire. All Foretravels of your vintage I have serviced have a Racor R12T fuel filter located up high on the forward wall of that compartment.
Where is the check valve in the system? My use of the aqua hot sucks the fuel from the engines filter. Have to prime the engine. My buddy says there's a one way valve in the system to prevent this?
Bob
Bob it sounds like someone tee'd into the engine supply line otherwise the aqua hot could not suck fuel from the engine fuel filter
Rudy,
I don't think so. On mine, it is in the main A-H compartment, which is behind the rear wall of the large basement bay. The wall is held in place with clips. Just pop it off, slide it to the curb side to clear the assorted hoses and lift it away.
My 98 also had the racor filter behind the panel that you take out to get to the aqua hot and the filter was right there and also there was a plastic 90 degree filter inside the aquahot
The filter on my aquahot is where Rudy said, in the first bay beneath the drivers seat.
My mistake. I assumed the person looking for the filter had the center panel off, had removed the cover from the heater and did not find any filter(s). Then for a Foretravel, look under the driver's window.
Fuel filter location chosen by manufacturer when they install the system. They just need to put it somewhere and I assure you the SOBs can be inventive. Then some always put the filter right at the heater.
