Title: HWH - Problem
Post by: Carol & Scott on June 05, 2013, 09:30:56 pm
Drained air from the tanks today before I replaced the engine decessant filter. I also pulled the fuse on the Aux comp.  I started the engine and checked for leaks around the Haldex filter then went into the coach to re-level.  When I hit the AIR button nothing happened.  I then hit TRAVEL button it blinks 3 or 4 times then goes off.  No TRAVEL light.  When I push the DUMP and RAISE buttons the coach pressures up or down respectively and the  AIR light Blinks, the 4 corner red lights light up and 1 orange light lights on the right side.  I have pressed the HWH RESET button with the same results.  I have contacted HWH but they have not returned the call.  The HWH system was working perfectly before.  Have looked at Barry's extensive HWH documents and searched this forum but have found nothing close to my symptoms.  Thoughts?

Check your slide, it looks like it is not going into travel mode.

When I retract my front slide, it retracts completely but the RED light does not go off.  After turning the key switch OFF and then ON and extend the slide it extends completely and the RED light goes off.

I think that your sensor is not reading the slide in

On my year there is a block down below with colored lights showing what pin is not showing set. You might not have pins in 2002. I know they switched over sometime that year.  Try Pushing on the slide as you bring it in up and down a bit right as it finished coming in.  I do not know where your room in switch is located but you might adjust that. IF all else fails you can still run the coach with the bypass switch.

Thanks John-

I will try pushing and wiggling tomorrow when the DW returns.  Where is the bypass switch?

Can you tell me more about the block down below?  Location and appearance?

Thanks Folks for your input.  The slides work fine.  Thanks again to Barry and his Maaaavalous web site.  Found the diagnostic docs there.  (If we still had Kudos I would certainly give him one.)  It appears that the HWH touch pad is kerplewey.  There is a little red light on the back of the touch pad that can only be seen when the pad is removed from the panel.  Blinking means that the touch panel is bad.  That's a good thing because if it was not flashing it would mean that the control panel is bad.  Talked to Mark at FT this afternoon and confirmed the problem.  I still have a call in to HWH to order the part.  Actually I made three calls to HWH.  Every time I called the young lady that answered the phone said that my call was still pending and that they are very busy.  On the third call I asked her how busy they were.  Her reply was that they were 2 to 3 weeks out for returning phone calls.  I will not detail the rest of the conversation but suggested that they could do a better job of managing their customer's expectations.  She was very helpful in giving me the new part number for me to order.  So now the challenge is to determine where we should ship the part as we are scheduled to leave on this Monday.  I imagine somewhere around Denver?  Thanks again.

Update - Ordered part (HWH touchpad) from Mark @ FT and had it shipped to Alb., NM.  We extended our stay.  It arrived today and I promptly installed.  Started engine and ....... it works.  ;D  I know I keep saying it and it probably sounds disingenuous at this juncture - but this website and you folks are  A+++++.

A work around if you have two slides is to swap the panels after you retract the slide..
