Title: Dump tanks gaskets
Post by: Kerry on June 05, 2013, 11:10:07 pm
I have done searches on here and looked at Beamalarm also for numbers. I have found a few posts that CW ( Camping World ) has them but unsure what sizes or number I would ask for.

My pull handles for the gray and black say Valterra on them but help from forum members as to sizes or numbers for them would be greatly appreciated.
Being the "messy" job it looks like I only want to take them apart once, and am going to borrow the great posts on 3rd valve to add.

Thanks Kerry

Carrie, as I'm in the process of reconstructing the wet bay area including the dump tanks and valves etc. I just went through this... I believe there are just two styles (and three sizes) of gaskets for the Valterra waste valves. An old-style and a new style. I have no idea when the old-style ended and the new style started, but our 99' has the newer style. Both the Grey and black tank valves were three inches on our coach. The local trailer supply place told me that if the valve says "Bladex" on it, it's the newer style. You can't tell from the cable pull housing, you have to take that apart and you can see the valve assembly underneath it. I ended up just replacing the old valve which gives you a new blade as well as the seals. The rebuild kit sells for about six or seven dollars includes new screws and seals, the whole valve sells for about $13. To install the new valve, I only had to unscrew the handle and use the parts off the old valve that the cable attaches to, and reassemble. My whole waste pipe assembly was on the bench in front of me when I did it which made it pretty easy. Definitely a bit more challenging if you have to do it inside the bay itself.

I would just replace the complete valve assembly as then you will have new valves and gaskets. They should be 3 inch valves, but some coaches did use 1 1/2 inch dump valves for the gray tank

Thank you all replies.
I have one valve that has a slow leak and have considered either replacing the seals and valve or going to remove the valves inside the wet area to external valves like Steve and Kathy B have done, as well as some others from the forum.

I have also seen where some of the wet bay areas have a valve for flush of the black tank...does anybody have info on what type of valve and where the water comes from, as far as piping it to the tank?

Thank you Kerry

Do you mean "The No Fuss Flush"
