I know that if weather threatens the antennas should be down and the awnings stowed. For those of you with slides, do you pull them in too? If not, why not? I can see the logic of pulling them in (slide toppers won't be damaged, coach is that much closer to being ready to go if you have to/want to bug out, less surface area for the hail to attack), but wondered if there was reason for leaving them out other than the reason for having them in the first place - space.
No, I'm not planning on trading our U300 for something with slides. Just wondered, with all the "interesting" weather around this spring, what others do.
Depends! If forecast for hail and tornadoes then slides in, everything down and we are on the road getting the hell away!
Just a rain shower or even an all day rain, we leave the slides out. I do wipe down the slides before retracting if its raining when we need to leave.
If you are leaving after a rain, tilt the coach to get the water off the top of slide.
Depends. Rode out a couple hurricanes and one of them was in the FT lot. They said turn the slide away from the prevailing wind and bring it in. The other was on the outer banks of NC and I would have pulled them In if I had them. Big thunderstorms and high winds will see me taking them in. Regular rain is no issue even hard rain.
