Anyone running VMSpc on Windows 8? We finally got this 95 out of the driveway and are on our way to Nacogdoches (at Balmorhea State Park). Anyhow, I set up the VMS Program on an old laptop running XP. Worked fine except that the screen would go dark after ten minutes or so of inactivity. I changed all the power management options to never but it still went dark. Very annoying as I love checking out that data.
Anyhow I picked up an inexpensive Acer running Windows 8. No CD so I downloaded the software from Silverlight. I then attempted to install the drivers using the 64 bit file (inst something or other). That installation fails. I'll call Silverlight when I get a chance but meanwhile? Thanks.

Search for a mouse mover utility. It wigged the mouse every 10 seconds or so and the computer is convinced someone is still working on it. I use it to bypass the log off timeouts in my company's group policy. Side benefit of it looks like I'm always busy working on Communicator.
VMSpc works on Windows 8 but you may have to follow some special instructions to install the drivers. Something about unsigned drivers. VMSpc has this link for working around the unsigned issue.

Look at the VMSpc Formums for Windows 8 and VMSpc Drivers. Or just call 'em up and ask.
