Title: Generator Slide out limit
Post by: Fiddler on June 13, 2013, 06:09:53 am
Need to get to the back of my Powertech generator to access fuel line connections, but it only seems to extend halfway out.  I have disconnected the exhaust as recommended but the extension of the slide out will not permit access to the panels on the back of the unit.  Must I work from under the coach?  Ouch! hope not.

Fiddler, Only way I know of to reach back of genny is to remove belly pan under it, four bolts then lay underneath it.  Raise coach on blocks first. Fuel line connections should be at front.  Are you talking about replacing fuel lines from genny to tank ?

Yes, need to get to fuel lines at the back of the Genny.  On my gen,  the feed line goes from the electric fuel pump back to a fitting at the rear of the gen and from there through the fuel separator filter then on to the main tank.  It's a tight fit under the genny but I'm going to try and sit up into the cavity to work on the fittings.  BTW, the back of the genny has 1 fuel supply line, a fuel return line, a positive 12 volt and the ground.

That's the way I get to mine (powerteck PT10), the cover underneath has 4 bolts in it. I take 3 out and swing the cover out of the way.

It sounds like you have the quiet box generator and they are a pain to get to as there is no panel under to remove to access the back of the unit.
