I tried to open the generator door, pushed the red button and nothing. No click, no nothing. Checked the two wires on the back of the switch and they seemed OK. It appears to be an electrical issue so the next step is the circuit breaker. Can someone guide me to its location? Has anyone else had this issue? I saw a previous post that sounded similar but I did not see a post regarding the fix.
We have same year so will check in the AM, thinking you may be able to release from underneath...will post finding..
Having someone push on the door to reduce friction might help.
Also, I think the steel cable from the actuator to the latches can be reached and tugged on from behind the door.
I have had to pull the cables manually before when only one side would release but I have always heard the latches "click" when the button was pushed. This time no "click". I will release them manually later today but I was wondering where the fuse is just in case. I am also going to jump around the switch to check it.
I just had the same problem, had to find the circuit breaker. It's located behind the white electrical panel in the basement. As I remember it is a second one down... look for the very small, almost hidden reset button popped out on the inward side of the breaker. Or if you have a volt meter, look for the breaker with an output that is op. The problem undoubtedly is from inadvertently shorting the two connections on one of the basement door light switches.

Falconguy,
Jim is correct...please let us know if that works..
After finding the breaker that was exactly the problem. I reset the breaker and all is good so far. However I also noticed the breaker for the 12 volt air compressor was also blown. Reset it and the compressor came on ,ran for a couple of minutes and blew again. I could not find any obvious faults so I decided to try it one more time and the same thing, runs for a couple of minutes and the breaker pops. What are your thoughts on this?
Many generator doors need a little mechanical help when opening. Once you hear the solenoid release the latches, push in on the top of the door and maybe even giggle it in various places. Seldom does my generator door open outward without help. Spraying lubricant on the latches may help them release.

I too also lost power to the generator door power. Those breakers are hard to see but they are there. Careful inspection of wires revealed small cuts where they were pinched in the hinges. I repaired the wire and they now automotive wire loom over them. David
