Post by: Old Hippie on June 23, 2013, 11:37:27 am
What kind of wood was used in a 2002 U320? Is it Hickory? Cherry?
thanks,
OH

I'm fairly sure the 2 standard offerings (for the U320) were cherry or walnut.  Oh, and possibly maple.

Finish will be Sherwin Williams sanding sealer.

Ours is walnut, but the finish has taken on a reddish tint since being new.  Hard to tell it is not cherry in some spots ... at least to my untrained eye.  The new closet doors, which were stained in walnut, have a rather different color.  Thankfully, it is not too noticeable in the bathroom ... and they will change with time.

Cherry and Walnut I believe.  The walnut will lighten and the cherry will darken over time.  When I replaced a couple interior doors I just put the doors on the picnic table for a day and they were the same color.  I think the 03 late 02 had the designer series and they had maple and it was an option after that.

Curley Maple, I think is the very nicest, light, you do not need lights to walk around. Unlike some dark wood, such as the now favorite "Booga-Looga(?) wood, very dark.
Nice to have a choice when you have one built.
