Post by: Retired Navy Chief on June 27, 2013, 05:35:33 pm
I was reading the battery terminal posts and cannot even see my battery's.  how does one access the starting batteries without becoming a pretzel?  Thanks,  David

Chassis batteries are tough but our House batteries are dead center behind the AQ Hot and the Water Bay.  We had to get new batteries in August. I told the FOTservice guys, they need to go grab the engineer who designed this and make HIM change the batteries!
Not easy to get to nor lift 160lb batteries into place!

If your '03 38 with tag is arranged like our '03 40 with tag

House batteries are behind the panel on the left (rearward) wall of the second storage bay on the passenger (curb) side.  Remove the panel to see the 3 8D batteries.

Chassis batteries are behind the giant muffler when you open the driver (street) side rearmost vented panel.

(Insert Dave M. resonator upgrade recommendation here ;D  - chassis battery access is vastly improved if you replace the giant muffler with a resonator like the Aero 5050XL or Magnaflow )

The selected media item is not currently available.

And you no longer cook your chassis batteries too.
