A friend of mine is going to look at a 1999 U320 42' with a tag. It is I west central Fl. Does any one know any thing about it?
Probably no Motorcade number? That would certainly open the door for a lot of info if it were available.
Is this the one you are referring to?

Yes I think that must be it.
Full body paint?
And the extremely-rare "free box of Wheat Thins" option :))
Along with 1 A/C, :o
Reminds me a lot of one that was for sale a few years back out in Oklahoma. Widow owned it. It had sat for a couple of years. Needed tires and batteries.
nope not the same coach...
Three cylinder diesel generator? Maybe it only needs 8K to run the one air conditioner. I thought the U320 coaches used the four cylinder Kubota with 10K or 12K generator.
Looks nice. Miles seem pretty low for that model. Price seems OK, even if it needs tires and batteries. Might make someone a good coach unless there are "show stoppers" that are not apparent.
Mine has a 12kw Isuzu. 3 A/C's.
And I continue to learn. TNX, Brett
Did anyone pick up the residential toilet in the coach? Two photos of the potty room show just the top of the toilet with a tank and flush lever, just like at home.
Whoa! I can't imagine that withstanding road vibration for very long before developing problems, particularly at the tank/bowl interface!
1 a/c would suit us fine as we never use the 2 we have. We like a small fan blowing rather than unheathy a/c. Last thing I need is a generator running while boondocking. I should sell our a/c's for more room for solar.

It has 3 AC units and a 12 KW gen set.
Could be microphor with a residential look?

last year I came close to buying a '98 42 with tag. IT...had 3 A.C.'s
I am now in St. Pete... back home, so to speak, so if there is an interest, I'd be glad to drive down and check it out for the foretravel folks/camera and now, more than ever...some knowledge of where to look.
I think this maybe the same coach that has been for sale for the last year or so. I only saw a photo of the front and none of the inside. Last fall when I talked to the owner he was firm at $99,000, said he had spent something like $45,000 on upgrades at the factory including paint. If so maybe the factory can give you a rundown on what they did and how long ago... The first time I talked to him the coach was in Michigan for the summer... (Had MI plates) the last time we talked around Dec he said the coach was in storage in Florida, but he had a friend who would show it. He was still firm at $99,000. I was going to make him an offer but he was kind of a pita to talk to so I moved on. Maybe not the same coach but not to many 99s 42's with that paint and std headlights.
Cheers
Ted
This coach looks great on the outside but after a closer look there is a lot of corrosion and rust. Must of been driven on roads with salt, probably the reason for the low price low miles, if any one near this coach in Palmetto would care to take a look at it and can tell me that the rust and corrosion is a normal amount and worth owning I would consider buying it. I am shopping for my first Diesel Pusher, I now have a 1984 Airstream.
Bruce,
I'd suggest calling the dealer and asking them to verify or disprove your thoughts on the rust and corrosion. I've looked again at the photos and cannot see this and the genset looks pretty darn good considering these generators had no enclosure until models 2 yrs newer.
A dealer will more than likely be glad to take digital photos and respond with any direct questions you have. If after some effort here and you do wish, I'll drive down from St. Pete and take a look to verify your concerns.

Bruce,
What do the bulkheads (particularly the rear) look like in terms of rust, corrosion, separation? If you have a concern with general corrosion you'll want to look especially carefully at that area. A forum search on bulkhead, particularly in the Tech Talk board where this sticky resides Bulkhead Repair-- A Comprehensive Look (http://www.foreforums.com/index.php?topic=8645.0) , will give you some idea of what to look for.
