Title: Movie appearence for Grand Villa fans
Post by: danieljeff545 on July 14, 2013, 08:32:50 pm
I just returned home from the movie theatre and saw a movie trailer for"Meet the Millers"...in it they are driving a Grand Villa Unihome. The DW and I are going to have to see it just to see out FT in action!

I Googled it.  One of the trailers on YouTube does show a scene with a GV, but it's not the lead characters (Jennifer Aniston, Jason Sudeikis) driving - theirs looks like a new, cheap SOB.

Given the plot, I'd say it's a relief the lead coach isn't a FT :-X

David Burke (Jason Sudeikis) is a small-time pot dealer whose clientele includes chefs and soccer moms, but no kids—after all, he has his scruples. So what could go wrong? Plenty. Preferring to keep a low profile for obvious reasons, he learns the hard way that no good deed goes unpunished when he tries to help out some local teens and winds up getting jumped by a trio of gutter punks. Stealing his stash and his cash, they leave him in major debt to his supplier, Brad (Ed Helms). In order to wipe the slate clean—and maintain a clean bill of health—David must now become a big-time drug smuggler by bringing Brad's latest shipment in from Mexico. Twisting the arms of his neighbors, cynical stripper Rose (Jennifer Aniston) and wannabe customer Kenny (Will Poulter), and the tatted-and-pierced streetwise teen Casey (Emma Roberts), he devises a foolproof plan. One fake wife, two pretend kids and a huge, shiny RV later, the "Millers" are headed south of the border for a Fourth of July weekend that is sure to end with a bang.

The trailer in question is down this page a bit.  A few risque pictures of Jennifer Anniston to pass by before the trailer appears.

Here is a screen shot I took on my phone. Looks like they removed the driver's window frame to get a good shot of the actors.

At 43 seconds in this clip there is something that is slightly relevant to this forum. I do not endorse this clip or movie in anyway, but I was just wondering if anyone knows how this Foretravel found it's way to the movies.

No idea how it got into the movie but it appears to me to be either a U225 or a U240. Interestingly enough, the motor home that appears later in the trailer looks like an entirely difference RV.

I noticed that, too. Either there is more going on in the movie or somebody made a major goof. Of course, in the first Harry Potter movie Harry's scar moves from one side to the other and back again. and there is a western in which one of the characters is wearing a digital watch.

From the hype about these movies I cannot see why anyone would waste good money on them.  Entertainment ? I don't think so, and no I am not a fundmentalist or a prude, but I do THINK that I have better things to do than watch this crap, and the crap on TV. I do rather enjoy watching paint dry and grass grow, cheaper too. :)
End of rant.

The GV appears early in the film, which gives the "protagonist" the idea of using a MH to smuggle drugs across the border.  His boss sets him up with the late model SOB.  Later in the movie they meet up with another family in an older SOB that non-FT people might confuse for the GV shown earlier.

A twin brother to my Southwind was the RV in "Dusk till Dawn" when they crossed the border. Don't know if I loved the film for that or Salma.

The film panned in an earlier post got "two thumbs up" from me. Guess it's just California.

Greetings,

Hmmm - we have found more cubby-holes than they did in our GV.

How much do drug runners make anyway? LOL - :))
