Title: Surveyor for new (to us) Foretravel
Post by: Bob & Vicki on July 15, 2013, 11:38:12 pm
Hi all!

We have been all over the internet, looking for OUR foretravel. We have had an SOB and don't want another. Is there anyone that you guys would trust to survey (engine included) an older FT?? We have several FT's that we are interested in, but we really are newbies at this. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks in advance for your help.

Brett Wolfe would be my choice.

Brett is certainly knowledgable...probably the most well-rounded person here.  There are likely a number of others who could help you, depending on where your prospective coach is sitting.

Heck, maybe even Motorhomes Of Texas would check out a coach (for a fee) brought to them for review.  Seem to be lots still in Texas.  They have a great reputation with this bunch.

Let us know in what part of the country you would like to have a coach inspected, and one of us might be able to help. Several of us here could probably do a reasonable inspection and provide information, although I don't think any of the rest of us are as qualified as Brett.

Ours, too.

As for the engine part, maintenance records first, then fluid analysis.

Then a dealer to check out the engine, for fuel, oil and exhaust leaks.

If you find something interesting in the Seattle area I'm happy to go over it. I'm nowhere near as qualified as Brett but did spend a year and a half shopping for Moby and hit that one outta the park. There are a couple of prospect on craigslist round these parts right at the moment..
