Neither Foretravel or Beamalarm knows the location of the doorbell chime, any help?
Ours is in the cabinet above the passenger seat, on the forward wall, a white plastic unit that has either C or D-cell batteries in it.
Michelle
That is where ours is too.
That's apparently where ours used to be. There are two wires and a screw to hold the housing. I'll have to look for a chime to put there.
Forrest and Mary,
I'm betting yours was removed by a previous owner due to possible fire risk. If you search the forum for doorbell fire, there are a couple of stories (and one set of photos IIRC) of fires caused by the hardwired doorbell unit. I seem to recall it might be related to the button sticking, but others can chime in (no pun intended) with more accurate history.
At least for 2003 there appeared to be a change to a battery-operated chime.

Ours is located in the lower left portion of the galley cabinets where the sub-woofer for Bose sound system is. Remove grill and you can see it behind the woofer.
vickinbobyo, Ours is the same as Michelle's, above the passenger seat. I have disconnected the built in button in the door handle bracket and use a generic stick-on wireless button and matching receiver, now.
To all that have replied, thank you for your input . The original owner said it worked for awhile, but he never found it and, after looking everywhere three times, I gave up, more important gremlins popped up.
Was it not in the cabinet above the passenger seat or by the Acoustimass module?
