Title: aquahot leaking coolant into burner
Post by: John Haygarth on July 30, 2013, 02:31:37 pm
No, we do not have one but close friend has this problem now and he is travelling in his CC Magna in eastern Canada on his way here. I got him in contact with our experts but they a re way in different area and was wondering if anyone knows of a tech close by Toronto. I have told him to not worry till he gets here then we will take it out and fix/replace but they need hot water and it is over a month till they arrive here

We know something about being w/o hot water and a
Aquahot for a month or two... >:(
Are they able to heat water with the electric element(s)? Would need to replace lost coolant, but might get them by for awhile. Probably best to discuss with Rudy or Roger though.

Dick, Rudy and Roger have talked to my friend now and it seems that a new unit is needed--close to 8K , anyone have any other leads on new units??

You can get a factory rebuild and it may be a little less. It requires a core swap.

I think that price of 8 is with the core and it is a reman.

well my friend is buying a new unit from Rudy when he is travelling this way and we will be removing and installing the new one. Should be fun and maybe I will be an Aquahot specialist by the time it is working!!
Thankfully we do not have one in our coach so will not get that hit at some time. Supposedly the burner cannot be repaired so hope once we have it apart maybe I can  prove it wrong!! Love the challenge.
Busy few weeks, drive from NJ with geoffs coach then this CC Magna arriving to fix, driveway will look like Camp Foretravel soon, just need Jeff and Carol to arrive for Happy Hour !!!!

John,

I understand he has purchased it from Aqua Hot.

I would have preferred your friend to have purchased from myself or more especially from Roger Berke.  It would have saved him a few bucks as Roger always sells at a modest discount.  This supports Roger that does so much to support all of us.

I was told he had bought it from one of you guys (maybe Roger then) and was picking it up in Montana on way here. If not I am sorry as I really pushed for you  guys???

John,

I am very happy to share that I have learned Marcel is discussing purchasing his new heater from Roger.  Thanks for supporting Roger.
