Title: En route to Texas
Post by: Bob & Vicki on August 02, 2013, 09:28:28 pm
Hi All,

We've left Miami, and are on our way to Texas, hopefully to get our "new to us" Foretravel. Thanks for all the info and support. Any advice is still welcome. Hope to join "the club" soon.

Your new coach will spoil you. I almost never take a long-ish (>100 miles or so) drive without wishing that I had the Foretravel. Quiet, comfortable, great view of the countryside... just can't beat it!

Good luck!

Craig

I don't know if you will be on IH35 or not but avoid north and south bound from Salado north to Waco. A lot of TxDOT work going on to make the road 3 lanes each way. Construction, coupled with the 18 wheeler's from the valley, makes this stretch very difficult. The lanes are very narrow and NO shoulders.
Also, I had 104 for a high yesterday.

Marilyn has demonstrated her driving skills a couple of times by successfully piloting the FT with towed vehicle through that mess. I never screamed or yelled from the passenger seat. :D I agree that you should avoid the area if you can.
