Hello all new to this site and really have loved all the helpful, friendly posts we've read.I look forward to many years with this group. About us Martin and My Bride Sandy 37 yrs now long time rv folks we have a 1975 airstream we've owned for 27 yrs now (it has wore out 3 suburbans ) I did all the maintenance my self . We are retired US Army SFC E-7 (helicopter mechanic) & retired truck driver as well as a fleet mechanic. My bride was a crafty Martha Stewart long before she was cool. Sandy had a brain tumor and has learned to walk 4 times now and her mom n dad gave us their 1996 Foretravel U270 now were are trying to learn to use it and get back to living and traveling. Our coach has some glitches but were working on it and looking forward to some good tips and advice. With all that said Hello one and all.

Welcome to the world of Foretravel. I had a 1979,1971 and a 1960 Airstream before we purchased our FT. While the quality of AS is good the quality of FT is superior. Enjoy Enjoy Enjoy.

Welcome to the forum. You have a great resource here. And Foretravels are great for those of us with brain tumors too.
Wow such a wonderful welcome thank you all!!!!
We were on our way to do our maiden voyage this afternoon But a glitch showed up in the travel mode the leveling system put the body down on the right side tires while the left air bags fully extended just glad it happened 50 ft in to the trip. The leveling system worked okay in park and manual but not with the brakes off then its whoopsy daisy might be me but we did put 300 miles on two weeks ago and no problems. Any ideas before I call Texas
That happened to me only I was a low in the rear and high in the front. It was a burnt connector.
Martin, the HWH manual has an extensive trouble shooting section which may help. You might have a copy of it in your coach documentation. Here's a pdf of mine which is likely the same system as yours.

Thank you all so much for the ideas I will check to see if I am doing it right with the trouble shooting manual in the AM thank you for the PDF my in laws did not give us the book for that system this will help its a great start.
And yes John it might be a connector for I did find a mouse nest in the box with the micro chips , will let you know what I find thanks all.
MIce are terrible on them. I am sure they chewed something or it caused the issue. If so you can sent the box to HWH for a rebuild if you need too.
Welcome! We think you will really enjoy your Foretravel. (We have certainly enjoyed ours in the past eight months!)
You will find this forum extremely helpful. Feel free to participate frequently, and don't hesitate to ask even the "dumbest" questions! There is so much to learn about these wonderful machines and everyone here is so willing to be of assistance.
Selling our Airstream now searching for a FT
Well now there two airstreams for sell (watch out if you own airstream stock) :-)
We have not really tried to sell ours as of yet we need to get really comfortable in the Foretravel first and its been difficult on my bride. However she was doing good until yesterdays glitch with the ride height problem. Going from a TT to MH is very different for there are more systems combined. We will learn -and the Fortravel is one of the best built/ enginered coaches I have seen. The People on this forum are Ace's we've been reading this site for months but just a few days ago learned how to post. GOOD LUCK on your hunt
