Hi,
We are headed to the Southeast leaving Tucson this coming week. Looking at the weather, it looks like the southern route through San Antonio, New Orleans, etc would be the best bet given the rain in Colorado and Oklahoma/Arkansas. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks
Larry,
It will take a tropical storm to rain enough to give you any concern coming across I-10. Avoid New Orleans, unless you wish to visit there, by taking I-12 in Baton Rogue to Slidell to rejoin I-10.
If you stop on the east side of Houston (Baytown), Carolyn and I will take you to eat where the locals go. Shoot me a message if you want to stop.
If Atlanta is close to where you are going, then peal off of I-10 onto I-20 in west Texas and go through the south side of Ft Worth and Dallas and on east.
Just avoid the Houston and Metroplex freeways during Daddy traffic times, 7 to 9 am and 4 to 7 pm. However, coming into Houston from the west, anytime after 9 am will work as only in the evening would there be a modest slow down going through the downtown area of about 10 minutes and then back up to speed.
Larry - If you have the opportunity stop and have a bite to eat with Rudy. Great guy and wife, nice location and good food. He also does wonders with an Aquahot, if you have one.
I too will second stopping to meet up with Rudy.
Larry, We got home friday after a trip thru KS, MO. TN, I44 was reopened on Saturday after flooding as well as US65. We ran thru lots of rain but no particular problem ( except stupid drives that bought cars with no headlite switches ).

Thanks for the feedback. I'm going to try to look up Rudy after those recommendation!
I think you can click on the letter icon below his name on his post. You can send him and email that way if you like.
I'll give a third endorsement for visiting Rudy and Carolyn! I had the pleasure recently and really enjoyed their company.
