I have a 1995 Foretravel U295 that has a backup monitor that has been staying on for a short while. Now it don't want to come on at all. It also serves a system monitor so I miss it. I hope someone has a replacement or repair. Maybe someone worked through this problem and will be able to give me some direction.
Regards, Dick Hoagenson
If it is the original one, many of us have had to replace it as they do wear out.
I have a near new Javelina replacement .
PM if interested.

Hi Hoagy2,
Not sure of your coach year. It you have a fold-out dash monitor, it might be a Necvox. The flexible circuit board (strip)in them between the display and the unit can break and the screen may go off. In which case you might find one on eBay, etc. for less than $100.
I neglected to include the unit has a sticker on top that states it is a Javelina Corp. Serial #1904 4/95.That sounds like it is the original unit.
Oh, a Javelina problem. I noted they are quite expensive when repairing their units. Only about $50 difference between repairing your old unit and sending a refurbished unit to you. They are pretty proud - around $500.
.
When I put in an inquiry to Javalina this past spring, they were no longer doing anything in the RV market and had no stock or interest in servicing any of these products.

He has a lot of experience with replacing Javalina monitors and cameras with modern color units.

Dick,
This topic has been visited quite a few times with all of our '90s era Foretravels aging (but the owners don't :)) ) and cameras etc. starting to fail. The good part is the stock wiring will still work with new cameras/monitors. You can do a color DIY installation for less than $100 or spend a bit more and see down the sides or remotely move the camera on the back. The cameras and monitors get less expensive with more features as time goes by. Tim, the source Brett suggests above may be able to save you some time in researching what works best for your model and year.
Using the search tool (top right on this page), check some of the really nice installations our members have done along with the sources for the video equipment they installed.
