Title: Entrance steps on the GV
Post by: Michael j on August 16, 2013, 03:10:29 pm
My 1987 29' GV has no entrance step. Why I have no idea, it's a big step to get in and out. Not a very safe idea on their part. I have to carry a small step stool and it's a pita for sure.

Was the step optional on the GV?

Has anyone added a electric step to theirs? I'm going too, maybe pick up some tips if you have.

I'm pretty sure the step was only on the upgrade models. I don't think my 93, U225 had a step and maybe even the U240 but the U280 and U300 both had an automatic step.

The grandvillas did not come with a step. Some people did add an electric step. It can be done and on your coach Michael, don't think there would be a problem with ground clearance as would be with the 36 or 40 foot models

Used to include a fold up open wire type step with a coach.

Our U225 has no step and it is a bit of a lunge to get into the coach; we just carry a small wooden step that we place that also holds down the door mat (which we place on the ground adjacent to the door) when it's windy.

One less thing to fix....

My 36 foot,  1989 Grand Villa has an Automatic step, Open the door and it comes out by itself, Underneath the Coach,
