Title: Retarder Temps & Assorted
Post by: Dave M (RIP) on August 17, 2013, 03:41:06 pm
George H, its all your fault, ;D  as I am now into the retarder temp readings.  Have not been any good hills, but taking the exit at 70 mph, pulling back to full stop on joy stick will show 250f fairly quick, it does cool down reasonably but see a learning curve ahead.  Did not know how happy I was just reading the sump temp. ;D
Next, had a good chance to see how it does in the 0 to 60 mph on a flat road, result was 18.2 sec the best I could figure with a stop watch, not a tecord but it does feel good in the seat. Plus it does raise the front end up shifting thru 4th.

Silverleaf with Retarder temps was one of the best upgrade we have done...Actually, like Dave, we were driving blind...wonder how many times I ran the temp up over 300?  Believe we had this coach 6 months before silverleaf, but will have to check..Spent a lot of that time in Colorado, Montana, and Washington..Ouch..

Hi Dave M,
Your performance is awesome. Neat to hear the beast can lift the front end!

Hi Jeff,
Your so right. Many many of us drove our coaches poorly when new to us. This forum has taught me so much. Just wish there was this much info years ago. Our newer owners/drivers sure have a great resource here. It shortens the learning curve immensely.

Hey guys....If we could have coach drag races at the GV I would be there!
