Title: back up camera issue
Post by: John Haygarth on August 26, 2013, 11:22:09 pm
The Javelina camera/screen unit on Geoffs 94 GV we got last week needs a bit of fixing. The screen shot out camera is reverse and the picture on screen needs to move up a touch as the bottom of the tank levels does not show. Can these be altered> Anyone an expert on these issues??

John,

If the tank monitors are showing correctly (not reverse image) and the back up camera is showing reverse, this can only be corrected at the camera.

Not all cameras have reverse image function.  Check on the camera or post what camera he has.

Thanks Brett, also got a reply on parts/camera from Gary.
On the levels issue the bottom of that function is lost- looks like the image needs to be moved up a bit so you can read the empty sections etc

Before I replaced my Javelina monitor, I re-adjusted the vertical scroll because it was rolling upwards. The same could be done for the alignment, which sounds low on your monitor. There are pots on the motherboard which are adjustable with a very long, very small slot screw driver. I had to remove the protective cover on mine to be able to read what each pot was for (printed on motherboard). Be extremely careful after removing the protective cover because there is very high voltage in there. Use an insulated screwdriver, ie slide insulator onto the shaft before use. Make very small adjustments, or you could end up with an unuseable monitor.

I left my old monitor with a former Foretravel owner in Brawley, CA. It may still be available. Contact me if you would like it.

Hooked up a new voyager VCCS150 from rvcams to the existing javelina monitor.  Works great in black and white and the ir function is neat also.

The 7.7 inch surface mount screen i purchased is too large for the dash space on my 97 so will get a smaller screen to surface mount in the future.
