Upgraded my rear camera to a voyager unit. Works great. The 7.75" LCD monitor dwarfs the dash. Too big.
Their 5" unit apparently does not have the "mirror" switch to display the javelina info correctly.
Like a new monitor to blend onto the dash better than the giant 7 inch voyager.
Quality before price is what I normally pick.
Any info would be helpful especially on how it mounted up to a 97 u320 dash.

call Tim at RV Cams if you haven't already.
On my 2000 (same basic dash layout I think) MOT put in something from RV Cams that I think is about the size of the one you had. They had to move the 12V DC plug down onto the side of the vinyl by my right calf, because they flush mounted it just above the Radio, covering up the original hole and the 12V dc plug - works great
WOuld send picture but coach in Tennessee
Bob,
Here's what the 5.6" ToteVision from RV Cams looks like. It does have the mirror switch.
jor
5.6'' Color LCD Panel-Mount Monitor •(2) BNC-Type Video Inputs
•Mirror Image on Input #2
•Normal Image on Input #1
•No Audio
mine seemed to have more screen and less border, and fit better, bought at MOT but they sourced from RVCAMS
Does it have a mirror switch. The javalena audit unit i still use sends out a reversed image per Foretravels instructions as they told me today.
So the rvcams unit 5.5 inch unit does have a mirror switch.
If you mean the 5.6" unit, it has two inputs, one of which is the mirror image.
•Mirror Image on Input #2
•Normal Image on Input #1

Does your 95 have a side vision camera?
The Javelina Audit 700 monitor in my 91 GV just went south, so I'm looking for a replacement that will fit in the 91 dash. Will these newer examples work for me, the dash arrangement is totally different. It seems wiser to replace the havelina rather than get a new one (if possible) or have the existing one repaired (if possible). Anyone have experience on the 91 vintage?? Thank you and have a great day ---- Fritz
Do any of these monitors also get tank information like the original units do? My Audit system still works pretty well and even gives me propane, fresh water, and black water tank info. I suppose they'll all go south someday though... and I'd like to be somewhat prepared.
Craig
Craig,
Yes, the monitors will get both back up camera and Audit output for tank levels.
Depending on year, you will need a reverse image monitor OR reverse image monitor-- Javalina changed up where the reverse image was determined. That is one reason for working with Tim at RV.cams. He is very familiar with Foretravels.
Try to get new, cheaper and way better, while you are at it upgrade your camera as well. Give TIm at RVCAMS a call, he can help you out.
I wanted to get the smaller 5.6" monitor from RVCAMS but the person I talked to said that it did not have the mirror image switch capability. Tim at RVCAMS also stated that in an e-mail to me. I have the 7" one on order. I will post the installation results in our 91GV. Thanks all and have a great day ---- Fritz
Have received and installed the 70-LCD-LED monitor from RVCams inc. I wanted to install it on the backside in the dash but that would have made the side entry ports UN-useable and would have reduced the viewing size of the screen a little bit. For my installation I used the mounting plate that was used for the old monitor and just fastened the new mounting plate to that. The old "MONITOR" AND "SELECT" switches still work although the MONITOR switch is redundant because the POWER switch on the new monitor turns off the monitor also. What I dont know is whether or not the MONITOR switch turns the computer on and off also. There are some reverse image anomalies and reversing is required by using the arrow buttons on the monitor when a display is reversed. All in all I like it and it sure beats the old TV style that rolls and went horizontal on occasions. A picture is included so you folks with our style of dash can see what it can look like. Other options are available I'm sure. Thank you and have a great time ---- Fritz
