Title: How we replaced our cracked dash
Post by: Barry & Cindy on August 31, 2013, 09:18:00 am
We fixed our 1997 U270 cracked Plexiglas dash that was backlit with bulbs.  Sequence of photos at BeamAlarm.com.

FYI

There is a plasic that is front engravable that when engraved the translucent back is exposed so that the backlighting will work.

Any decent trophy/engraving place can get some and engrave it to your specs.  One supplier is Romark item number 3-401 matte black 1/8" thick.

This looks like a good solution to replace the electroluminescent dash in our coach that works most of the time if the dimmer is at full brightness.

With bright backlighting it might allow the annotation to be visible to the mature naked eye.

Previous threads here mentioned a power supply from FOT to restore dash brightness?

This is another example of how great Foreforums is. I'm going to bet there are a lot of folks here who have cracks in backlit plexi other than just in the MH dash. I, for one, have a small crack in the backlit faceplate of my prized McIntosh pre-amp that I've wanted to get fixed forever. Now I know who to go to. Thanks.
