Several months ago, we added a SWM8 multiswitch so we could use the new Directv 5-tuner HR44 DVR receiver with our Winegard SK-3005 Traveler roof satellite antenna to connect to our front LCD HD TV.
Our bedroom has an LCD HD TV, but the only cable to the bedroom is the original coax, which could only carry standard definition TV.
We just purchased a Directv mini client C41 receiver which is quite small at 5.5" x 3.5" x 1" for the bedroom TV. Since the receiver works with the new style RF remote, the receiver can be completely hidden away behind TV, etc.
The C41 client receiver will display full HD from the single original coax connected to the SWM8. The HD TV can have a HDMI connector or a 5-RCA-cable Component connector. The C41 client receiver uses the 5-tuner HR44 DVR to watch its recordings or watch live TV.
We were surprised that we could watch HD just using the single original TV coax cable, which is joined in several places and is made of the lower quality RG59 cable.
