Title: 02 auto arm Zip Dee Awning Question
Post by: Dan Stansel on September 05, 2013, 01:34:31 pm
I have had a minor air leak for couple months so today getting ready to leave for Six State Rally I thought I would put the awning out while waiting on the dear wife to finish loading. I then decided to fix a soapy spray to see if by some chance the air leak could be in the area of the manifold for the awning out of the control box. Got lots of bubbles at the bottom of the glass on the air regulator.  It had a black button on the bottom of the glass.  Push it up and air came out so I assume it is to release any water which might collect in the glass from the compressor: however it is not sealing correctly and air still leaks out.  Since I think 02 was the only year this awning was installed by Foretravel their parts department has no clue about this item. I know several members have this awning.  Can I get one (bowl) at NAPA or where?  Can I just replace the button at the bottom of the bowl?  Tried to push button several times thinking trash might be in there but no luck.  Tks DAN

jsav7grand sent me the manual--tks--.  I called Zip Dee service support  wow quick quick answer.
He said just take (twist)bowl off and loosen the bottom button off and maybe put plumbers tape or sealer and put back in.  Clean the valve while off to ensure no trash.  If not closing then call and they have replacement parts. I am going to wait until after this trip to do this as when the bowl comes off all the air will leak out so I will need to turn off the aux compressor. Then again I will look for an air cutoff on the regulator.    Tks Dan
