Title: Fuel Discount Program.
Post by: Jon on September 18, 2013, 02:50:13 pm
First, let me introduce myself. I was invited to this forum to make you aware of a fuel discount program specifically for those of us who own high end motorhomes. I am a co-owner of Prevost Community (http://www.prevostcommunity.com) along with my partner Tom. It is an open forum, and anyone can view its entire contents anytime. Tom and I created it as a place to bring all Prevost enthusiasts together to take advantage of our collective strength. Our membership has grown large enough to enable us to create a fuel discount program. Now we can pull up to the pump, swipe a card, fill our tank and drive away. No more trips to the fuel counter, and we don't have to leave our coach unattended. We have friends throughtout the motorhome community and we have opened the program up to include all high end coaches such as Foretravel, Wanderlodge, and Newell for example. The program is set up for fueling at truck islands only and is intended for coaches that typically take on 100 gallons or more.

The fuel discount program saves 10 cents from the cash price at Love's, plus has numerous other locations that offer 5 cent discounts, plus about 5000 that allow cash price with the use of the cards. To me just the convenience of never having to go inside is the best benefit. To apply you must be a member of Prevost Community, but all that requires is a simple registration. Once you get your password and log in you can click on the fuel discount program button, make a few entries and you are at the application. There is detailed information about it under the general comments section of the forum. There is no charge to be a PC member and you have no obligation to PC. We just want to share with fellow coach owners.

Thanks to Rudy, Steve and Michelle for allowing me to let you know about the program. I won't go into details now, but we will be adding to it in the very near future and it is because of our collective strength that we can all benefit.

Welcome to ForeForums Jon.  This sounds like a great benefit and we appreciate Prevost Community sharing the opportunity with Foretravel owners.

Thanks go to Rudy for getting the ball rolling and making the initial contact with Jon.

I learned of this via the Newell Guru forum where there has been a nice discussion of the program.

As I understand it, one gets two cards -- Love's and all others.  Love's offers 10 cents off, 68 more offer 5 cents off and the rest of the 5000 participating fuel stops offer cash price.

One swipes his card, fuels and drives off.  A receipt will be emailed later in the day.  So one should record the amount of gallons and dollars shown on the pump.  The receipt will show the details and the discounts applied.

There is a phone number to Alicia in the program office that can see the purchase in real time.  Alicia in the program office is the person that charges you, not a third party vendor service.

There is a $25 per year fee and a one dollar surcharge for a less than 100 gallon purchase.

I do not represent this offer so these notes are as I understand the answers to my questions and from reading the posts on Newell Guru forum.  Only Jon, Tom and Alicia can give definitive answers.

I agree it is a good deal just to be able to fuel and go.  But I passed a Love's Monday that posted fuel at $3.699 making the program price $3.590.  When I got home 100 miles later I took on 92 gallons at $3.89.  I would have stopped for the savings.

FYI, I have met Jon and actually camped next to him for a week at Buckhorn. I will say he knows as much about Prevost and Liberty coaches as our strongest members on here.  They have a great forum and are very friendly but not as much discussions as we have here.  I have been thinking of signing up on this program and probably will.

This sounds as if it's an outstanding program! We, too, offer our thanks to the Prevost Community for offering us the opportunity to participate.

Hi to John. That was a few years back and if my memory was correct he taught some Prevost owners they cannot outshoot a Foretravel owner.

If there are any questions or issues let me know. One thing I can tell you for sure. Our program was originally set up as a Prevost Community program and as such the software kicks out non=Prevost VIN numbers. If you apply, and are rejected check back because I will be looking at registrations for the fuel program and as soon as I see an non-Prevost VIN I will edit it and create a VIN that the system will accept. If that doesn't happen within a reasonable period of time email me.

Good morning all!
I just spoke with Tom from the Prevost Community via Email. Toms question to me was about the Rainbow Dr. Address.
I did explain to him that the addresses are completely legit, through the Escapees Club.
Tom asked that I get the word out to those that have registered using the Rainbow Dr. Address to please register again if they don't get approved soon, as the security system had trouble with so many addresses being similar.

Hope this helps all..

I got an inquiry from Jon about the Rainbow Dr address.  Since he had already met me on the Newell forum he knew I was not a spammer.  I told him of the Escapees mail service and suggested the forum(s) members be invited to re-apply.

So, if you applied before today with a Rainbow Dr. address, just re-apply, let Jon correct the ineligible response and you will be good to go.  Worked for myself.

Apologies to three or four folks who used the Livingston address that I deleted. Just to give you some idea of the ends people will use to mess with a web site, we have over 700 members but have deleted just under 2000 because they used bogus email addresses, they were selling something, or their IP address was China or an eastern bloc country. We had two get past us and post inappropriate stuff on the forum so I am sorry our paranoia was why I deleted 4 folks all with essentially the same address. If you re-register Tom and I will be sure to get you your passwords.

@Jon I signed up with a 514 Americas Way, Box Elder, SD address today. It's a mail service similar to Escapees. Just a warning you may see others using that same address. There should be a PMB (personal mail box) number (4 digits) or simply a #1234 to uniquely identify it.

I'll post my experience once I get the card and use it.

Jon,

OT, but we know the issue well.  If you ever decide to migrate your forum to SMF, Steve (who is now part of the SMF development community) can fill you in on the security mods he's applied here that keep a lot of the extra crap out.

Thanks Michelle. So far so good. No member information has ever been breached as far as we know and the two that got past us were legitimate registrations, but instead of an interest in coaches one was selling furniture and the other adult toys. Both got deleted.

It is too bad people have nothing better to do than try to hack a web site.

I was helping a friend with a Prevost and he needed new fan belts. At Napa he pulled out a Prevost Napa discount card and got a sizable discount at checkout. I searched google for Prevost Napa discount and Prevost Community came up. Since I was already a member I signed in and noticed the "PC Member Discounts". Clicked on it and they have several other discounts available (besides fuel).

The discount that stood out for me was the free Napa discount. With it you get fleet pricing at Napa. I've gotten over 20% off on some items. Your milage may vary... Highly recommended.
