46% savings on Michelin Tires? I highly doubt that figure. We just purchased 6 new Michelins through the FMCA Advantage Program and saved just under 17% which seems more realistic.
Bill,
I helped one of my friends purchase 295/80R 22.5 Michelins for his Monaco recently. One tire dealer wanted $1000 for each tire.
Through my discount truck tire dealer(no FMCA discount), we got them for $700 mounted, taxed and balanced. That is 30% off the price of the tire. So it would be more percent off of the dealer's out the door price.
Sorry your realistic price was only 17% off.
I think the difference is in the quoted retail price. We were quoted 735.00/ea retail and ended up paying 611.00 thru the program for the tires only. We had to pay the labor/valves/balancing ourselves which was 61.00 ea. So each tire cost us a net of 672.00 incl tax. BTW the OEMs were placed on the coach (275/80 22.5) which I believe are a little pricier than the 295s. FWIW
In June I went to our local tire dealer , ask for price on 315 by 22.5 by 80 . Quoted price was $1200.00 each , plus tax and mounting and balancing .Did the FMCA tire thing , price was $ 637.00 plus tax ,mounting and balancing . Now , was I quoted the proper retail price or what . ?Don't know , but pleased with results . Brad Metzger
