When I look at photos of other Foretravels that show the drivers floor area, I see the pedals are fairly close together.
The pedals on my Foretravel are miles apart. There is a huge distance from the brake to the accelerator pedal. I get used to the distance after I drive a awhile and could see where this might be nice for comfort. I'm still worried that the previous owner moved the pedals and if he did could anything be out of whack.
If I understand the brake system, the brake pedal is mounted to a valve assembly on the other side of the floor. If this is correct it would seem to be a big job to relocate this pedal.
The accelerator pedal would seem to be electronic, since the distance to the engine would be too long for a mechanical connection. How can I check to see that I have full throttle range (Cummins MII Celect)?
How does the accelerator pedal connect to the engine?
Was there a choice given when the coach was made as to the preferred location of the pedals?
On our 91GV the brake is too close to the accelerator and has been a problem for me on numerous occasions. If I get a little inattentive to this, I can easily be stepping on the brake and the edge of my boot will also be pressing on the accelerator. This really got my attention when it first happened coming up to a stop sign! I haven't looked at our peddle relative to the treadle valve, but I would move it over if I could. On mine the accelerator is just screwed to the floor as it is electronic.
Every so often, I experience a similar issue and have to pay attention to the right foot. John S is. Correct, the throttle is an electric device like a volume control and can be relocated very easy.
I experienced this same problem with the pedals being too close together. I moved the throttle pedal to the right by moving the front of the throttle only and leaving the base of the pedal unchanged.
How do i check that throttle is going fully from idle to full throttle?
You have a throttle position sensor and as long as that is working it should go from idle to full WOT. The location of the peddle does not matter.
After FT put in new carpet the accelerator pedal was in a different place. I had them move it to where I thought it should be and later I moved it again. It's fastened to the wood floor with wood or sheet metal screws. Make sure the pedal does not hit something. Mine has a set of wires going to the pedal. The brake pedal is fastened to a set of valves under the floor and is difficult to move without a major rework. I have the King throttle control, an electric servo motor in a metal box that pulls the throttle on the engine open, 2 springs pull it closed. I have not tried this, but maybe if the key is on and the engine not running have someone depress the throttle all the way, then see if the throttle on the engine hits the stop. If you can pull on the cable and open the throttle more, maybe it's not all the way open. I could be totally wrong about this as I have not done this. Other coaches may have a different system too.

Lon ---- Wow, I'd probably miss that brake pedal totally!! I have about two inches between the two on our rig. I have an air accelerator and brake, so moving either of them will require some thought. Thanks for the pic. ---- Fritz
When I did my floor I removed the accelerator but not the brake. When I replaced I relocated the accelerator a little to the right. I wanted room between the pedals to extend my long legs when driving down the highway on cruise. Works well for me.
@Lon you can get on the floor and push the accelerator to it's limit (with engine off and coach parked of course!). If not obstructed by anything and you are able to hit the pedal stops you should be good.

Our '93 U225 has pedals that are so close I usually drive with my shoes off. I don't think they are electronic, either.
