Post by: Peter & Beth on October 03, 2013, 10:36:20 am
I have it from a good source that the 2015 Granvention will be in Indiana.  Sooooooooo....start planning now to come on over to the Great American Midwest to have some fun and meet all you fine folks.

Some of us avoid Indiana. For example, I got pulled over on a country road one lazy Sunday morning by an officer because I did not a seat belt on.

He could not believe a lap belt was the norm for my Foretravel in 1999.

60 years ago I got the first of two speeding tickets I ever got in my entire life: You guessed it: in Indiana

The officer pulled over three of us, and let the Indiana resident go.

Sounds like a tradition, doesn't it?

best, paul

Indiana has Cummings and tours of their plants and talking to the engineers. Now the DD and CAT guys might be bored. But a FF rally is a great idea but there are some logistical issues. One insurance is required for a group in a campground and we looked into an FMCA chapter but you have to let everyone in.  Looked at a motorcade chapter but not everyone is a member. See the issue, and to get a block of sites in a good area requires a deposit too in many cases. But if we can work thru it you have a good idea.

LOL...Me too.  I was snow bound in Cleveland and was not able to fly to South Bend due to weather.  Had to rent a car then drive from Cleveland to Plymouth, IN.  Rental car was a brandy new 1988 Chrysler Cordoba..Remember... Corinthian leather?  Anyway, I had to go to the bathroom real bad as soon as I crossed the border from OH to IN.  Trooper got me doing 95 MPH....He then pointed me to the nearest earth ash tray so I could ...well ya know the rest.

If the 2015 GV is held at CERA Land (Cummins Employees Recreation Association) it would be very nice.  Only about 10 minutes from the Cummins plant and HQ. !5 minutes from Brown County SP and Nashville, IN.  Bloomington & Indianapolis very close  as well.

House cars(motorhomes) are exempt from seatbelt laws as far as I was taught.

Recent visit to Ceraland for their annual "Coming Home Rally" was a very worthwhile event as the Cummins people were great,  and the tours of their manufacturing and engineering most impressive.  Cummins is by far the largest employer in Columbus, IN and it's obvious by their physical presence all over that city.  They announced that beginning next year,  Good Sam will be running Ceraland for them; and that in addition to the current Ram pickup truck line, they will build a Cummins mid range diesel for the Nissan Titan pickups.
