What is required to replace that confusing four button Dometic "Duo-Therm Comfort Control" with four independant analog thermostats, one for each furnace and one for each Air Conditioner?
Is it possible to connect to the controller boards and turn on/off heat or A/C?
Wyatt, I agree that the Dometic Thermostats are confusing... however... If you have one that has failed the guy to contact is Bill Hendrix in Erie , CO. He can rebuild these to like new. I will look for his phone number later and post it.

I got this info about Bill Hendrix off the RV.net Open Roads forum. I have no personal knowledge about his service:
"I refurbish DuoTherm 4 Button thermostats - part #310 6463.007, I have a very limited number available on an Exchange Basis. Give me your NAME - ADDRESS & PHONE NUMBER, tell me you are an honest person and I will send a refurbished, cleaned, sanitized & tested thermostat via Priority Mail -
-on the Honor System. You install, see it work then send me your check for $90.00 ALONG WITH THE OLD THERMOSTAT. That makes this a no risk, no down time transaction.
I DO NOT SELL OUTRIGHT -- THIS MUST BE AN EXCHANGE SALE -- THERE IS A CORE CHARGE OF $100.00 IF YOU DO NOT SEND ME THE OLD THERMOSTAT.
A return postage paid USPS shipping label will be enclosed for your convenience and you can re-use the box.
TWO provisions - THE DISPLAY ON THE EXCHANGE THERMOSTAT MUST WORK and I NEED THE OLD THERMOSTAT RETURNED WITHIN 10 DAYS.
If your LCD Display IS DEAD, CONSIDER GOING TO THE CURRENT 5 BUTTON SYSTEM FOR $232.00 - (ONE AIRCOND) - WITH INSTRUCTIONS.
PLEASE NOTE --- IF YOUR PROBLEM IS --
If FURNACE does not show on the display - that is a furnace problem and another thermostat will not fix that.If you have 2 or 3 air cond and you can't change zones AND a zone number will not appear on the display, that is a connection problem with the communications cable and another thermostat will not fix that until you correct the communication cable problem.
From time to time I have other thermostats and upper boards available.

Wyatt, check out " Dinosaurs Electronics" I Oregon. They repair the circuit boards also.

I know Bill Hendrix personally-- he serves on the FMCA Technical Advisory Committee with me (I am Chairman of that committee).
He has been in the RV business a LONG time and has written a number of articles for the FMCA Magazine.

Wyatt, I expect once you get past the digital part of the system, good old relays are what you would be interfacing to. Would take some hacking but could most likely be done. Control wiring may or may not be adequate for analog changeover, doubt its usable.
Thanks Gary, but the issue is not that it has failed. I dismantled and cleaned the buttons so it works good. I will replace the buttons if it malfunctions again.
I do not like the tunnel vision I perceive with it.
I would rather have the visual feedback of looking at a thermostat to see what it is set to (like I have had in my house for decades).
I am hoping someone has wiring schematic or understands how an analog thermostat can be adapted to control a single furnace or an A/C unit.
Wyatt
I have emailed Bill Hendrix to request his help.
