Title: New Upholstery For Casper!
Post by: Coleen on October 27, 2013, 06:06:33 pm
We shopped and shopped for new upholstery. We suffered from sticker shock, thinking how much should we spend on a 1995 GV?  We finally got a price we were comfortable with and our two chairs and couch done for $1,886.00 including the "faux leather". It took about 10 days and was done by Linda's Upholstery in Whitney, Texas. Definitely off the beaten path but worth the hunt. Casper is styling now!

Wow! That looks great. Our fabric covered couch is going to need that soon.

That does look fantastic.  It would be neat to see beside a "before" shot (I can imagine though).

As I'm Foretravel shopping, I'm finding quite a few coaches that (for me) would benefit from some re-upholstery.  As it's not something I've done (or had done) before, it's really nice to get a visual and some "real world" info.

So thanks!

Alex

Coleen,

Absolutely beautiful.  You picked Cindy's favorite.  What is the exact color?  Are the chairs the same?  More pictures please.

I'm sensitive to the concern over how much to spend on an "upgrade" for a 20-year-old motor home, too. Right now the co-pilot's seat badly needs recovering and I think we'll just use a seat cover solution for now and perhaps have something done in Mexico when we head that way.

I love that color!!! It really looks classy. Price seems pretty decent, too. More pictures!!! :D

Very snazzy!!  Great color choice, too!  Is is actual Ultraleather? Or just a different kind of "pleather"?

Your sofa looks really nice.  Did you also cover the captains chairs or dining chairs?

We covered the dining chairs ourselves.  It's very easy.  How to do it is obvious once you take them apart.

You know, Keith ... I salvaged those "square chairs" from a lady carrying them from the "new" early 90s U??? Foretravel she had just purchased from MOT.  She was ditching them because she didn't like them!  I used them to replace the the swivel, high-backed chairs with the 5-leg base(and bad upholstery!) that were in that '95.  Hated them!  Heavy as lead and I busted 2 toes on those bases.  I also thought that the lower profile of the square chairs opened up the interior of the coach AND they are really comfortable!
