Has anyone had experience with the clear bra made by 3M.? They look so much better than black ones that strap on. I am thinking about putting one on my new Wrangler tow vehicle.

Yes - I had the 3M clear film installed on my Smart Car 4 years ago, it has heldup well and did reduce "road rash". However it will not protect the windshield. I went to a full front cover bra when towing. The 3M film has protected the finish from abrasion from the cover.

We had the 3M clear protection installed in June 2007. It covers the front bumper and extends over part of the hood. It has provided a lot of chip protection when it is towed or not. My biggest compliant is the line of demarcation where stops. Dirt accumulates there and has been impossible to keep clean. I have not seen any yellowing.

My question is why do it? Besides the cost most of the clear protection films discolor in time.
Can it really protect against a rock? I have reframed from putting this on as painting is so cheap today and when you trade it in they will clean it up anyway because they usually wholesale these out after removing all evidence of being a towed vehicle. Just my opinion but sometimes it appears we spend money needlessly. Dan
We had FOT spray on their front protection. FOT says that it will protect against most rock chips and bugs and can be repaired. We picked up a piece of concrete so we will test FOTs repair comment! It's small so no hurry.
We also had the front of our new Jeep sprayed as well. Bugs just wipe off or hose off!
Now if it helps to get bugs off it is worth every penny. Bugs are a constant issue so may be money well spent. You just gave me a good reason for doing it. DAN
We have the clear shield paint protection that was OEM in 2005. After 70k miles it has protected the front end paint fairly well but there is one big problem from my perspective. All the scuffs and dings in the protective shield do not buff out, so on a dark color paint job it looks horrible. Maybe it works on coaches with lighter colors... FWIW.
