Title: 12 volt compressor issue
Post by: Caflashbob on November 29, 2013, 12:40:01 pm
My tech buddy finds my air compressor keeps blowing inline fuses. I have seen references here to fixes and/or rebuild kits.  What's actually rebuilt?  Expensive?

Bob, do a search under Thomas compressor and lots of info comes up.
Pumps are very expensive, good luck.

Bob your coach probably does not have the Thomas compressor, but the much smaller compressor that is mounted beside the inverter. That is the one that was supplied by hwh. I do not know if it is rebuildable. Maybe if it is disassssembled the problem can be seen

Is the later larger unit mentioned here any advantage to use on my rig?  No slides.  No leaks in the suspension after leveling.

2000 U-320 single slide 40"

12VDC air compressor went out (had a leak I didn't fix.....)

Rietschle Thomas 12Vdc compressor Model 405ADC38/12-525

Is rebuildable.

Bought mine overnight from:

Combined Fluid Products
805 Oakwood Road
Lake Zurich, IL 60047
847 540-0054

Was about $350 plus freight as I recall.

Why pay more?

Thanks.  The 525 part of the number identifies it as propetiery.  You were in there system so I got the same one you ordered just no -525.

$260 plus shipping. FOT HWH was $1200.

you can send them the old oone, they will rebuild, and then you have a spare.

I overnighted it as I was outside Yellowstone and needed it to move..... Maybe why I recall $350

$250 vs. $1,2000.  Hmmmmmm
:-)

Love your memories Bob.

Would love to buy that $%$ front engine Travco Gasser in Houston for $5,000 and put a diesel in it....

The curved roof line made the shower short for tall owners.  I am 6'2" and they were cramped.

The round body had noticeably less wind deflection from gusting crosswinds.  Noticeable difference when the rounded top roof edge grand villas were introduced over the ftx and the curved windshield was another advantage.

This ought to be stored in the part numbers area.  Have not installed it yet but it appears to be the same exact unit that hwh sells to foretravel.

There is a bigger unit that is used on the later coaches and I would bet they sell the bigger one also.

Thanks for the info.  Saved a coach buck or so....
