Newbie here and sorry if I missed a previous discussion on the above item. I did a search on here but came up with nothing. Anyway, has anyone had any experience with the Bully Dog Power Pup system for your Cummins diesel? The over-the-road guys love it. Our engine is a pre-2010 so it doesn't have the DEF or particulate filter.
Great forum and thanks for any info, Mark
Mark,
Sorry to temporarily derail the subject, but your coach (based on your avatar) is one of the newer coaches we have had our eye on as our next FT. Congrats on being the owner of an amazingly gorgeous, inviting Foretravel and welcome to the forum!
Michelle
Thank you, our previous Foretravel was a '98 320 and we loved it (kinda wish I still had it, $$)! But this one is really something, 3 slides, heated floors, IFS, King bed, 1.5 bath. We're still getting used to it. I am curious about the Bully Dog though.
Take care,
Ahhh Mark you must have been one of the lucky ones. When we where at Ladies Driving School in Nov 2010 James Triana gave the men the factory tour. On the tour he mentioned that Cummins had told them about 9 2009 engines still available. Seems Foretravel was a preferred customer since they were paying cash for engines. I'm pretty sure Foretravel took all 9.
Don't have any experience with the Bully Dog. If it were me... I'd talk to Cummins. I wouldn't do anything to the motor unless they sign off on it unless you have money to burn and gotta have more HP. :)
see ya

Thanks Ken,
I'm still doing research and you're right, Cummins will have to OK this upgrade and even then I may not do it. I still have to put more miles on it to know for sure. It is pricey at $2800. I'm looking at longevity for this motor and this may not be the best route (engine temp, exhaust gas temp, etc.). I will probably talk to Cat as well, though they quit making engines for on-highway in 2008. I'll keep the forum posted on what I find out. Take care,
Mark, Think Resonator, does not affect warranty and does free up the engine, less heat, Think 99% love it and 1% have no clue.
