Title: Mirror adjusting switches
Post by: Green99 on December 09, 2013, 09:39:02 pm
Are the mirror adjusting switches suppose to be lit?  Just curious I was replacing a couple of rocker switch bulbs and just looking at the mirror switches the base looks like it could be lit, but I didnt see anyplace for bulbs?

One of mine is, and one isn't. Some day when I have other reason to poke around there, or have nothing better I need/want to do, I'll see what's what. Since I haven't driven the coach at night yet that isn't a concern for me - so far. Of course, having only one out of two bulbs lit might mean that something funny is going on back there and eventually it will come out of the dark and bite me.

The bulbs go in from the side and if you look very close will find where there is a small rectangle that will slip out and it will have a bulb in it.

Does it take the same bulb as the rocker switches?  Also is there just one per switch?

I am not sure what size bulb they take, and yes there is only one per switch. It might be the same as the rocker switches.

And it's not very obvious.  I think a sharp point is needed to pry it out.  Part of the rectangle is on the outer radius of the body.

Jerry,

If yours is like mine, you can replace it with an EIKO brand #2723 from O'Reiley's.  I believe its the same bulb used for the rocker switches also.

Murph,
You are correct the bulb is the same as the rocker switches.  I will mention this in case someone has to replace these bulbs.  Both bulbs were blown.  I replaced and one worked one didnt.  What I found was there was a connection problem in the socket.  If you pushed the bulb all the way in it would not make contact.  So I used a meter to identify where I had contact and left the bulb at that position and it works fine now.

I think they make an LED replacement bulb in that size that's supposed to last longer than the incandescent bulb... in case you get sick of changing tiny light bulbs... :)

Scott,
Do you by chance know the number for the led bulb?
