The headlight conversion has begun... A little scary seeing the front of our coach cut up like that, but I feel like we are in very good hands here at Xtreme.
AW, but you can go to bed @ night, while it will be done
You could always just hang a couple of tractor lights there. :)
I want to add that all of the people we have met here are very nice and helpful. They don't mind spending time talking with you and answering questions, and asking some of their own. I had some nice conversations with Rance especially... definitely not somebody who is just there earning a paycheck! They already have the front pieces of fiberglass fabricated and I really like the chamfered edges around the lights. We are also getting the fog lights done and the recessed license plate area. Add to that the fact that they have a nicely configured apartment available for free for customers, and I can see why everybody raves about Extreme.
Don
True that! After pulling three all nighters in a couple of weeks at your warehouse, I may need a few extra hours of sleep... starting now.... zzzzz...
Don
And one more thing... I'm also going to have them install an aluminum compartment in the empty space behind the driver side rear wheel. It is definitely something I could do myself, but right now I'm more interested in having the space to use than in creating it! Rance showed me the box which is already fabricated out of sheet aluminum and nicely welded. Material looks to be Close to an 8th inch thick and will make a very sturdy compartment. I guess we have caught upgrade fever!
Don
Shake a paw with Dezl for me. He's a great little guy. And say hey to the gang for me. James will appreciate it. And, you are indeed in good hands.
Looking good Don. Needless to say we need to see the final results. I can't let the DW see the changes, when I met you and Dave it altered what we were looking at anyway. With the added features, it will be hard to keep up ;D ;D
Larry
Just curious Don,
Will the new lower half of the front cap be gel coat or painted?
It will all be seamlessly gel coated. I saw one in progress (that part was done) when we were here before and I was amazed at how well it just flowed together. They do 1st class work here.
Don
Don those chamfered edges on the headlights were the idea of Gary Omel. His coach was the first one they did like that at his request. They cut the front end off his like that also to make the molds. I was surprised how well the gelcoat blended together after they were done. I am sure you will be very pleased with the results.
Mark
Hey Mark, I had the idea for something different, but Rance had the plan and made it work. Gary O
May I ask an approximate price range for this and the aluminum rear compartment?
All the crew at Xtreme are top notch. When we were there we had our black lab and she watches Gregg very closely each time he moved our coach in and out of the shop each day. Rance and Gregg have fun with each other getting the coaches in and out.
Yup, they do first class work. I watched them build the molds for the headlights. I was talking with James and he said there are not many left without them as they have done the bulk of the numbers that had the old style numbers already. Nice.
I have been affiliated with the fiberglass industry for 35 years. Rance is the best FG man I have ever seen and the whole crew James, Jennifer and Greg at Xtreme have been like family to us. I think we adopted Kristin somewhere along the line and Diesel and Trip are great buddies. I had a little work done elsewhere last summer and in the future I will always go back to Xtreme whenever possible, even if I have to drive 1000 miles to do so.
After experiencing the service and attitude of the staff here at Xtreme, it is easy to see why they are held in such high regard with Forum members. Even David, the relatively new hire working with Rance (who was taking Friday off), has an enthusiasm and desire to do good work that reflects well on the management. It is so nice to see people who care about the quality of their work! Here are a few more pictures...
The attitude of an organization starts at the top.
You can't find nicer folks than James & Jennifer.
