I want to mount my solar panels using 3m VHB tape, but there are many part numbers for this product.
I'm looking at 3"x6" pads on eBay with a part number of 4950,
3M 4950 VHB Double Stick Mounting Sheets 3" x 6" 3 Pcs | eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/3M-4950-VHB-DOUBLE-STICK-MOUNTING-SHEETS-3-X-6-3-PCS-/111245217866?hash=item19e6bb504a), but before I buy I want to be sure they will do the job. Is this the good stuff?
I did look here for info, http://multimedia.3m.com/mws/mediawebserver?mwsId=66666UF6EVsSyXTt58T2o8z6EVtQEVs6EVs6EVs6E666666--&fn=70-0709-3862-9.PDF (http://multimedia.3m.com/mws/mediawebserver?mwsId=66666UF6EVsSyXTt58T2o8z6EVtQEVs6EVs6EVs6E666666--&fn=70-0709-3862-9.PDF)
3M is the source for data sheets on the various tapes. Here's what I have used for various items.

Sometimes available from ebay for a fraction of the cost.
ULine link is for a case. If you don't need that much ...

Amazon has lots of selections of width and lengths and some rectangular and round pads as well.

Have had good experience with Fuser double stick tape from the automotive area.

Might be worth a look see...
Fastenal sells it. I got 100ft from them in Lufkin and it is 1/2" wide by 1mm thick. I use strips of it together. $100 for the box.

30 bucks. I've had a roll for several years and haven't noticed any degradation from age. Keep it sealed up in a ziploc.
Something wrong with that ad as unless I am wrong 62 mm is around 2 1/2" thick???

The add says 62.0 mil thick I think it should read .062 mil.
I bought the 4950 3x6 sheets. After I placed the order the seller suggested 5952 might be a better fit. I ask him to change the order, have not heard back from him yet. Maybe he has gone to bed. :)
