Any recommendations?
I can't make a recommendation because they are magnetic. Anything I've used that is magnetic has scratched the vehicle finish. You could put Saran Wrap between them and the vehicle, but I tried that will poor results. Some people claim to have good results, and I have no idea what they are doing that I didn't do, cause I got scratches.
I had an old sailboat on a trailer and, in order to move it, I made up a board with the lights on it and hung it on the transom. If you mount the tow lights on a board or similar and attach it by shutting a couple of straps under the trunk lid or rear window you can avoid the problem with scratches from magnetic lights. A little thought and you can make up a simple useful solution. Also means that you don't have to mess with the toads wiring and it's easily transferred to another vehicle.

Try towlite.com they have wireless tow lites, and are good folks to deal with
Many vehicles have enough room to add an extra bulb in the tail light lenses. I have done that to both my 2003 Chevy S-10 and my 2004 Acura MDX. Completely separate from the vehicle wiring that way.
What are wireless tow lights? Does the tow vehicle have a remote that controls the light?
They use a transmitter plugged into the towing vehicles trailer plug, and use a radio signal to the tail lights, a lot of tow truck folks use them. We use them at work for over length loads and such, we have some that will work over 100'. The only draw back is the lights them selves have batteries that need charged its' all self contained just need 12v and ground, lot of ways to do that when not in use.
Thanks for the explanation Bruce. I can see where they would be useful.
Love the forum and this is one of the reasons. I did not know there was even such a thing as wireless tow lights. Apparently the low battery needs of LEDs allow this where the incandescent bulbs would work (for a short period) and then fail. Anyway, I went on ebay and found some and can not say that may be a good option. It would be easily moved to another vehicle, boat or what ever. This is ebay link for anyone interested:

I did a little more of a search and it appears they may be problematic (according to several reviews). The reviewers report issues with the "stick" of the magnets not being strong enough and also unreliable. Sooo...I may just keep doing the wired ones myself.
