Well I got my bill today. I will say the FT had three guys on my coach for one full day and half of another and must have charge standard rates. It was only 25 hours and that was very reasonable. MOT was very reasonable too. They were and are running a 20 % off special when I got here on standard service. So a good visit with David F shop too.
John,
25 hours for the stove top and tile backsplash? That would sound like a reasonable amount of man hours for the work performed.
John,
When you get time would you share pictures? Thanks...we will catch up sometime, seems we are usually 2,000 miles apart. We PLAN to be in the Seattle area sometime this summer.
Actually the backsplash was under 600. The sink was 7 hours and the fuel lines were 25 hours. Parts this trip killed me. Two stone counter tops an Air Force one brake and a new toilet.
Here you go Jeff
Very nice - my wife says WOW.
Under 600 ??? for the tile job, I think I will start doing it again and become a millionaire fast!!
That to me is very expensive. Now I know why I do my own work.
John H
John my wife loves it. I don't have a rig yet and she is wanting to make modifications.
Larry
and maybe a new microwave/convection, or had you already changed that out?
John, thanks. I think. If dw sees that picture I be in trouble. Beautiful job...
There's nothing for livability like a DGFE. I would order a Phenix that way...
Out of curiosity, what is the labor rate down there at the factory? Is there a separate rate for remodeling, body shop, mechanical?
I believe it is 110 per hour. Fiberglass is 85. John H. Be glad you can do your own work but I worked while Brent work and my rate is much higher than his. I was told by a co worker once it is easier and cheaper to hire it done and to work a bit than to do it your self.
Agree with you John if you are still working, but as I am retired I need to keep busy and doing this kind of work is second nature too me after all these years. I also figure that by doing it I am making/saving $100 an hour so it is getting what we want done to coach, without the outlay (sort of)!!
Plus it keeps me out of Ruth's way ^.^d.
Well I better get out there and do something today.
John H
I agree....with all.
There is a time, when we 'do it yourself guys' can save-by just doing it ourselves.'
There is a time, when us' do it yourself guys' get a bit 'over our head, or "just don't need to just keep doing this stuff...or go there anymore"
Yes, I have found the factory at Foretravel to be extremely courteous, knowledgeable and worked hard to solve problems.. Pricing has been fair. Did 'everything work out perfectly...all jobs totally successful? no, but I'm back for tweaking and still more service. Foretravel shops are top notch.
You are right Ron.
