What is the function of this? Is it some type of air intake or blower?
Inquiring minds.......
Looks like a squirrel cage blower. Should have an inlet and an outlet. Why it's there I don't know but it must be keeping something cool?
Keith
Hard to tell its location from the closeup, but suspect it is the EXHAUST fan to keep electronics/electrical equipment cooler.
The fan exhaust hot air out of the bay and and comes on in hot environments. I had to replace mine. It runs almost all the time in the summer. There is a control temp on it you can set for the temp you wish for it to come on. It helps move the air around the inverter. DAN
Exhaust out the bottom?
Would a door be there too?
In mine it cools the bay with the inverter, an important function. I have a thermostat on if, triggers at about 90 degrees. You can test yours, use a hair drier to blow hot air on it or I hear some, not me, used a cigarette lighter, just got near the thermostat, not flame on it!
Exhaust fan as Mike said. Test it as my thermostat needed to be replaced.
Thanks for the information. I will crawl back under there and check it out.
Don't think I've seen one on my U225. If it is suppose to be there, someone please let me now! Not a bad idea,
Pat,
No, your did not come with one.
Did yours come with an inverter? That is the big "heat generator", particularly if combined with other heat producing items in the same compartment like an air compressor. Again, not present on U225's.
