Title: 2002 U295 Foretravel on Ebay
Post by: Brad & Christine Slaughter on January 30, 2014, 10:08:10 pm
Hadn't noticed this one before.  Looks like someone took out all the house batteries and put one lonely little wet battery in there.  Other than that, not bad.  Also, if there are any Train issues, we have it dialed in!

Their asking $105,900 on their webpage - Inventory (http://www.floridarvsforsale.com/Inventory.html).  Last one on the page.  Make sure you take a real good look at that rear drivers side corner.  Kind of wonder about that dent.  And look at all the scratches above it in the darker paint.  Sure make me wonder what happened there.

Their camera work isn't all that great on shadows and such.  It looks like maybe the 2002 Endcap issue hasn't been fixed...it sorta looks like the "zipper" effect that was repaired over the years on most of them.

Stopped in Jacksonville to look at this one on January 21. They could not get it started. I was told that the key was found in the ON/ACC position the previous evening. A young man was sent to jump start it. He couldn't. My confidence further dwindled when he informed me the RV only had the one battery he was attempting to charge. He spoke with authority that the battery was 24 volt and powered the entire coach. Another employee arrived about 45 minutes later and while he could not get it to start at least he showed the first guy where the coach batteries were located. At the time there were two coach batteries. I can see in one of the photos #66 there is only one. Photo #94 shows two batteries.

After about two hours of waiting we left.

The rig was clean. It had normal wear for a coach this age. I was told it was bought at an auction and it was a bank repo. The CARFAX report did show one owner since new, then a title change back to a bank.

Can't speak about the end cap issues mentioned as I wouldn't know what to look for. Also did not notice the scratches PatC mentioned. I can see them in the photos. "Maybe" streaking from a wash?

Edit:  Oh, When we got there I was handed a inventory sheet and the price was $94,000 +

This coach is the same as mine except: New headlight conversion/house batteries missing in one picture and there in another??/  Upgraded tvs/  awning does not raise on air so maybe water in line or air leak.  Looks like a good buy for someone.  Buy low spend $10,000 got a nice coach if all mechanical is ok.  Also new tires.  Got some things already done.  DAN

Looks pretty good, the tire stamp shown in photo shows 2013 (only one tire that I saw).  I feel certain that there would be some issues being a repo, but may be a good deal.  Like any auction, it depends on where it ends.  Agree that there will be some unknown issues that will need addressing (costing dollars).  10K sounds like a good starting point to add onto the cost once the bidding ends.

I looked at the coach several months ago. Ran the engine and generator. My wife likes it a lot. It does have six new Bridgestone tires. I did not do a lot of major inspecting but it looked nice. Front window seal has a strange bead around it. Kind of like the seal has shrunk and you can see some of the gelcoat underneath. One of the places where the main awning drive attaches to the coach is cracked a little. The CCC will be lower with the double slides and single rear axle. I did also operate both slides. The stainless rails on the main slide outside were coming loose. Most likely a new fastener and some sealant. That is about all I can remember. I usually go by there when they get a Foretravel just to take a peek. They have had somewhere around 6 in all. They are not the greatest RV repair people. They just buy auction stuff and resell.

Hopefully those are LR-H tires.  With 2 slides on a 40' coach with a single rear axle, both front and rear could be challenging the weight rating on a LR-G tire at maximum inflation.

I noticed they relisted this coach. It went for $82,655 with no reserve. I guess the person did not buy it.

This coach is now relisted on eBay with no reserve.  "Sold" a week or so ago for $77,400 and obviously couldn't get closed. I was in the Jacksonville area Friday looking at another coach and I stopped by Florida RV at 9:00 AM and spent about 30 minutes looking this coach over.  As others have said, it's not perfect and some money will have to be spent for sure. But...this is a REALLY nice coach if it can be bought for the previous high bid.  A 40' 2002 2 slide 295 clean one owner coach with 74000 miles for under 80k...gotta be a buy!
