In the atchd picture, what does this do? It looks like a squirrel cage blower, but what is the function? (drivers side front basement compartment) My 2 coaches have not had one.
That is a fan for your generator. The radiator is mounted on the side and that is what keeps it cool. THe smaller Fortravels with the 7.5 Kw genny have the radiator attached to the generator but the bigger ones have the radiator remote mounted and that pushes air thru it.
I might be wrong, but on that particular one it looks like the radiator is flat on the floor of the compartment and the blower is pushing air through the radiator and down towards the ground.
yes that is on the floor. I have had mine standing up too. But it is the generator radiator fan.
John,
Just out of curiosity, where does air enter into the compartment?
It is NOT a sealed compartment. You can see that the front is open-- just outboard of the Sheppard steering gear.
Thanks,
I pulled the pic from the ebay link with this thread link (2002 U295 Foretravel) :

I had noticed similar blower fans in pics from the MOT and FOT site. Appreciate the explanation.
