Getting ready to install my Trimetric and checking out the battery layout I find that I have a cable that I'm not sure why it's there.
The house batteries have 4/0 wire going out of the battery box but there is another 3/0 cable attached to the other positive post. What is this other cable used for?? (see pic)

Ken,
Can you get a number from the wire and compare it to your wiring schematic?
Ken, is it going to the Aux start solenoid next to Boost on that elec panel (same one as AC circuit breakers are)
That is what I have on the 240.

Sorry, that is reverse. That wire may be going to Boost sol' next to Aux one
Thanks Brett. Didn't think to look for a number. I do remember a taped on label on some of the battery cables from awhile ago. Will check tomorrow.
Thanks John. Duh! My solenoid is in the same bay so should be easy to check. The cables kinda' disappear behind the battery box but I've had some success wiggling the cables around to identify where they come out. I'll try that tomorrow too.

With my limited knowledge I hesitate to comment but that cable would be best as the main positive to the coach. The other positive is a mystery.
My understanding is that its best to draw the load from one 8d's negative and the sister battery positive.

Disconnect it and see what doesn't work. ::)

Ken,
Here are a couple pages of schematics. Compare codes and let us know.
How did the thermostat change work out?
