Haven't been in the forum for quite some time. I am hoping someone can tell me what size the propane tank is on the 1992 U30 40'.
Thanks!
Yolanda
Capacity will be stamped on it.
Yep. I figured that but I'm not at the RV. It's a ways up north and I'm here. I was just hoping someone knew. I am going up there this weekend though. Thank you!
1992 Foretravel U300 GV Specifications (http://beamalarm.com/foretravel-links/models/1992-U300-gv-specifications.html) says 270 lb.
Propane weighs about 4.2 pounds per US gallon, at 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Approx 64 gallons which sounds high. Filled to 80 percent for expansion room, that is still 51 gallons which still sounds high. "Many" LP in motorhomes are 42 to 45 gallon capacity tanks.
Thank you! I guess I'll have to see when I get out there. The coach is not moving right now so I was trying to get someone to go out and fill the tank. But, they have a minimum gallon of 50. So, I'll just need to see what size it is when I get there.
Thank you very much though! I'm still learning. Been a chore. My late husband knew all this. I'm just finding things out as I go.

Yolanda,
Where is "up north"? There may be a Forum member who in the area that can advise on a propane service. Make sure that they know it's a FIXED RV tank and not one of the portables. Need different adapters.

Livingston Texas. Not way up North....just around the corner by Texas standards. ;D
Well I suppose it's all relative. I was thinking jack pine, snow and lakes. But then I am near Chicago.

We have a 91 GV which has a 75 gallon propane tank. We always have more propane than we need, tank lasts a couple of years at our usage rate. Have a great day ---- Fritz
Our 1993 U300 has an 80 gallon tank, so when filled to 80% (the normal amount) it would have 64 gallons in it.
