Title: Alignment recommendation in N.M. or CO.
Post by: cornado on March 21, 2014, 01:59:49 pm
I am in need of a front end alignment on a 99 U320 40'. Can anyone recommend a quality shop in N.M. or CO.?

Thanks,
Dennis

Dennis, before you try the alignment shop you may want to look at your ride height when the travel light is on.    The consensus seems to be that correct ride height is achieved at each air bag when there is 8.5 inches between the top surface of the upper air bag mount plate and the  very bottom of the lower mount plate.    You really only need to check the front air bags.    These coaches are very sensitive to being at the proper height.    Just a bit above or below will cause the steering wheel to be off center and the coach will pull to one side or the other.    Couldn't hurt to look.

I had my U240 aligned at A&E Tire in Denver (Commerce City) and have been quite happy. Since I have the torsilatic suspension I upgraded it to the 19,000# version to get the right ride height before the alignment. Agree with the previous post about getting the ride height where it belongs first.

Thank you for the tip on the ride height adjustments, I wish that was it as that would be  an easy fix. I have measured the ride height and it is right on.

AR Wilson: I will check with A&E Tire, thank you.

Any other recommendations?
